Why?

I would like to report worrying conditions in one of the most touristically growing regions in Greece, the bay of Navarino with its lagoon and the Natura 2000 nature reserve.

The military flight school in Kalamata performs here with their very old and above all very loud aircraft flight exercises in which pursuit flies and loops are practiced. The machines make a deafening noise. This is not acceptable to locals, tourists (there is resistance - many will not come back!), Nor is it acceptable to the Natura 2000 birdlife and other species. It has been proven that the number of migratory birds in the lagoon is decreasing from year to year. The aircraft fly up to 6 hours throughout the day from 7 - 19 hours distributed mostly with two aircraft at the same time over this area. is it allowed to fly over Nature Reservates??

For us as victims here in Pylos, Gialova, Elaiofyto, Petrochori, Romanos and Koryfasio) the question arises what you will do about it. The Temes Group is investing billions in new golf courses and other luxury resorts and is well known for its sustainable tourism. 

Why don't do the City of Pylos with Mr. Dimitris Kafantaris  and President of Hoteliers Association Dimitris Karalis and the Temes Group anything about it here - or is there already intervening? Do anybody speak with military leadership?

Why don't they fly over the sea or in Simulators where they don't hurt the peoples and animals in this area?

Greece has as a special economic feature the wonderful local products as well as tourism. Why is this destroyed with unspeakable recurring flying exercises - and then even over a nature reserve? It is not enough to reduce this aircraft noise only over July and August and then to shift it to the hinterland in the mountains!

it is incomprehensible why such flight exercises are not held over the open sea or in simulators - there one would not scare anyone, disturb and make sick. I can promise you, if you have not heard such a plane that makes you sick in the long run!

When talking to golfers and tourists is increasingly clear that this noise is extremely disturbing.

We are planning an international website on these events, if nothing changes here, to sensitize tourists to these events. Who wants to spend a holiday in a noisy region, which sets itself apart from the special protection of nature reserves and maltreats its own population with noise.

We would be very interested in your opinion on these events. Possibly. Do you already have a knowledge advantage which you want to share with us?
